ISS is looking to hire a qualified

German Teacher (All Gender)

Starting in August 2025. This Position is initially for two years.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an international classroom practitioner. Evidence of the ability to facilitate learning in a multicultural and multilingual setting would be an advantage.

Qualifications

Candidates will have at least a bachelor’s degree, a qualified teaching certification and should:

  • Can inspire for life long learning,
  • Can work as part of a successful team,
  • Wishes to be part of a school community that wants to continue to transform itself into a culture of learning, inquiry and collaboration,
  • Differentiates teaching for different abilities, languages and learning in German Language & Literature, as well as German Language Acquistion
  • Integrates IT into lessons,
  • Supports contributing to the review of a whole school language policy document.
  • Supports the coordinating German events across the whole of the Elementary School.
  • Be open to establishing links between the PYP Units of Inquiry and German Language & Literature, as well as German Language Acquistion
  • Helps to ensure the necessary coverage of the fundamentals of the German language to secure long term oral and written fluency for German Home and Family Language children, as well as German Language Acquisition children
  • Has up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance in relation to working with, and the protection of, children and young people,
  • Displays commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people,
  • Values and respects the views and needs of children and young people.
