The International School of Stuttgart e.V. is a non-profit, accredited IB World School that enrolls children from Kindergarten to 12th grade. At two locations in Stuttgart and Sindelfingen, we currently educate around 850 students from over 40 nations. Our more than 230 employees from all over the world shape the daily interactions in an open, international work culture with English as the working language.

We are looking for immediately:

Bookkeeper/Buchhalter (ALL Gender)

part-time (50%/20h/week) 

for a non-profit organisation

The position is initially limited to two years, with the option of a permanent position.

Do you love working with numbers and want a part-time position in an international environment? Perfect! The International School of Stuttgart is looking for you to join our four-person finance team as an Accountant (f/m/d) as soon as possible.

You’ll have the chance to utilize your German accounting knowledge and actively contribute to our organization's financial stability. If you are familiar with VAT, DATEV, and the unique aspects of non-profit organizations, we encourage you to apply.

Your Responsibilities:

  • VAT Compliance: You ensure compliance with all German VAT regulations and are responsible for the timely processing of VAT returns.
  • Fixed Assets: You are responsible for the proper management of fixed asset accounting, including recording, valuation, and documentation in accordance with German accounting regulations.
  • Responsibility for ongoing accounting: You are responsible for the flow of our daily accounting – from accounts payable and receivable to general ledger postings.
  • Account Reconciliation & Maintenance: This also includes the systematic reconciliation and maintenance of all accounts to ensure a complete financial overview at all times.
  • Support for Financial Statements: You actively support the preparation of annual financial statements and reports, including the correct handling of depreciation and professional preparation for financial audits.

 

Your Profile:

  • You have completed commercial training and/or further education in finance and accounting, e.g., a commercial clerk specializing in accounting, industrial clerk, tax assistant, certified accountant (IHK), or certified balance sheet accountant (IHK), or a relevant degree.
  • You have professional experience in financial accounting, ideally for a non-profit organization.
  • You have knowledge of German accounting standards and regulations, especially in the area of VAT and depreciation rules.
  • You are proficient in using Microsoft Office 365 applications (especially Excel), Datev, Veracross, and Flowwer. Our digital tools are Microsoft Office 365, Datev, Veracross, and Flowwer.
  • Your hands-on mentality and detail-oriented, meticulous approach to working, enhances our team. 
  • You have good communication skills in English (B2/C1) for everyday communication.
  • German language skills (B2/C1) are essential for local communication.
