ISS is one school, located on two campuses. The Sindelfingen campus is situated 20 km to the west of Stuttgart and offers a dual language / interlingual learning environment. ISS Sindelfingen Campus currently has 180 students from Kindergarten, to 10th Grade.

ISS is looking to hire a qualified

Early Years Learning Assistant

Starting as soon as possible. This Position is a maternity cover until the end of the academic year 2024-25.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a candidate who is fascinated by the learning process and loves working with children, who is able to accept instructions as well as suggest ideas. Sensitivity, compassion, a sense of humour and the ability to be able to work in a team are all attributes we value. The successful candidate will ideally speak fluent German and a good standard of English. An attitude of open-mindedness and empathy with the Mission and Philosophy of our school are essential pre-requisites. The position will involve:
  • Working closely with the children, under the direction of the class teacher and specialist teachers. 
  • Supervising the children in learning activities, preparing learning materials, and helping to clear away and organize learning materials. 
  • Working with the German Mother Tongue speakers, in reading, writing and numeracy skills development.
  • Supervising the children during snack and lunch. 
  • Taking break duties on the playground and lunch duties in the cafeteria.
  • Organisation of learning resources and ordering of learning materials and stationery.

Qualifications

Experience in working within an educational environment would be advantageous, and an attitude that promotes international-mindedness is essential. A qualification as an Erzieher/in would be an advantage.
 
The successful candidate also:
  • Has up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance in relation to working with, and the protection of children and young people
  • Displays commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people 
  • Values and respects the views and needs of children and young people
