The International School of Stuttgart e.V. is a non-profit Kindergarten through 12th grade, NEASC accredited, IB World School offering an international curriculum to a student body of about 850 from over 40 nations. Among its strengths are its student-centred and holistic approach to learning and its commitment to professional development and emphasis on student pastoral care.

ISS is looking to hire a

LS Early Birds Supervisor

as soon as possible. Part-time / MiniJob (5h/week). Initially until end of July 2028.

This is a part-time position, with additional opportunities to work as a substitute Learning Assistant during the regular school day.

Responsibilities

The International School of Stuttgart is seeking a warm, reliable and caring individual to supervise Lower School children each morning (Monday-Friday) from 7:30 to 8:15 am.

The Early Birds Supervisor will:

  • Welcome children warmly and ensure they are safely registered and supervised.
  • Organise children into groups in the Upper School entrance, dining area and Lower School gym.
  • Provide calm, engaging and age-appropriate activities, including indoor play, games, reading, drawing and homework.
  • Promote positive behaviour and ensure the school’s materials and equipment are used safely.
  • Respond appropriately to children’s individual needs and follow the school’s safeguarding, health and safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with families and colleagues and ensure a smooth handover when the school day begins.

Qualifications

Experience and/or qualifications in working with young children are preferred, as is a practical understanding of the ISS schools mission and beliefs about learning. The ability to speak English is an essential part of the role.

The successful candidate will be

  • dependable, punctual and able to build positive relationships with children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable
