ISS is looking to hire a qualified
Lower School IB PYP Teacher - Grade 5 (ALL GENDER)
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Model lifelong learning through inquiry-based teaching and learning, designing engaging and concept-driven learning experiences aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme.
- Inspire engagement in a differentiated and inclusive classroom environment, supporting students to become independent, reflective learners.
- Lead and facilitate the PYP Exhibition, guiding students through the culminating collaborative inquiry process that synthesizes their learning across the programme.
- Support students in developing agency, research skills, critical thinking, and action, central to the philosophy of the IB.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure strong articulation between the PYP and the Middle Years Programme (MYP).
- Contribute actively to team planning, curriculum development, and reflective professional dialogue within the PYP framework.
Qualifications
Candidates will have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree and recognized teaching qualification and should demonstrate:
- At least five years experience teaching within the IB Primary Years Programme, ideally at Upper Primary / Grade 5 level
- Experience facilitating or supporting the PYP Exhibition
- A strong understanding of concept-based inquiry, assessment for learning, and student agency
- Have experience in documenting, and assessing student learning using Toddle or similar, as a curriculum planning, communication and assessment tool.
- Awareness of the transition between PYP and MYP
- The ability to use data informed practice to differentiate and individualize student learning.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to reflective practice and professional growth
