ISS is looking to hire a Full-Time

Lower School Learning Assistant (All Gender)

Starting as soon as possible. This Position is initally for one year.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will: 

  • Support inquiry-based learning within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), assisting students as they explore ideas, ask questions, and develop understanding.
  • Work closely with homeroom teachers in the Early Years to support a collaborative learning environment and facilitate engaging, student-centred learning experiences.
  • Provide support to individual students and small groups to help them access the curriculum, develop independence, and build confidence as learners.
  • Contribute to a positive and caring classroom environment, supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
  • Assist with the Extended School Day and vacation programmes as part of our 3 / 4 Seasons Nest Programme until the end of the current School Year.
  • Support classroom routines and learning activities, and, where appropriate, assist with supervision of students across the school day. 

Qualifications

Successful candidates will demonstrate: 
Experience working with young children in an educational setting 
An interest in inquiry-based and child-centred learning 
A warm, patient, and collaborative approach to working with children and colleagues 
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team within an international school environment 
A kind, generous, and good-humoured nature, with a genuine enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
