ISS is looking to hire a qualified

Physical Education Teacher (All Gender)

Starting in August 2026. This part-time Position is initially for two years.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to: 

  • Teach Physical Education across the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP), fostering students’ physical literacy, wellbeing, and enjoyment of lifelong physical activity.
  • Design and facilitate inquiry-based and concept-driven learning experiences that develop students’ physical competence, teamwork, and understanding of health and wellbeing.
  • Plan, assess, and implement the Physical Education curriculum within the PYP and MYP frameworks, supporting students’ development of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, including collaboration, communication, and self-management.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across divisions and grade levels to ensure that Physical Education connects meaningfully with Units of Inquiry and interdisciplinary learning.
  • Support students in developing personal responsibility, resilience, and healthy lifestyle habits through active participation and reflection. 
    Provide substitute teaching within the Physical Education department when required. 

Qualifications

Candidates will have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree and recognized teaching certification in Physical Education and should demonstrate: 

  • Teaching experience in Physical Education within the PYP and/or MYP programmes, or a strong understanding of IB pedagogy.
  • An understanding of concept-based learning and inquiry in Physical Education.
  • A commitment to supporting student wellbeing, physical literacy, and lifelong engagement in sport and movement.
  • The ability to work as a collaborative team member within a dynamic Physical Education department.
