Lower School Library Assistant / Mini Job (All Gender)

Minijob - 8 hrs per week. Starting in August 2025. This Position is initially for two years.

Qualifications and Requirements

The Lower School Library at the International School of Stuttgart seeks a part-time employee to support daily operations, serving our diverse community of readers.
 
Useful Skills and Experience
  • Patience and a genuine desire to support our community of learners
  • Knowledge of the Primary Years Programme
  • Basic math skills for cataloging and labeling books
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency in English
  • Independence and proactivity
  • Passion for books and reading
  • Experience working with children
  • Experience in a library setting

Responsibilities

Essential Tasks
  • Assist students, teachers, and parents in locating and checking out library materials
  • Arrange books on shelves in alphabetical and numerical order
  • Scan returned books into the library catalog database
  • Maintain the library space
  • Apply labels and protective covers to books
Secondary Tasks
  • Create attractive library displays
  • Gather library materials using call numbers and titles
  • Collaborate with educators, the librarian, and parents
