Lower School PYP - English Language Acquisition / Substitute Teacher (ALL Gender)

Starting in January 2027, this is a full-time Position. This Position is a maternity leave cover, initially for a year.

Responsibilities

Applicants must be qualified and have international Primary Years Program (PYP) training, and minimum 5 years of experience. The ability to facilitate English language learning in a multicultural and multilingual setting is required. 
 

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Teach English Language Acquisition in various grade levels.
  • Model lifelong learning through inquiry-based teaching and learning, designing engaging and concept-driven learning experiences aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme
  • Inspire engagement in a differentiated and inclusive classroom environment, supporting students to become independent, reflective learners
  • Support students in developing agency, research skills, critical thinking, and action, central to the philosophy of the IB Primary Years Programme
  • Work collaboratively with grade level colleagues to ensure strong learning is aligned between classes
  • Contribute actively to team planning, curriculum development, and reflective 
    professional dialogue within the PYP framework
  • Have a collaborative mindset, and commitment, to reflective practice and professional growth
  • Provide subbing cover across the lower school
  • Have experience in documenting, and assessing student learning using Toddle or similar, as a curriculum planning, communication and assessment tool
     .

Qualifications

Candidates will have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree and recognized teaching qualification and should demonstrate: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience teaching within the IB Primary Years Programme
  • Experience designing and facilitating inquiry-driven learning within the PYP 
    framework
  • Have experience teaching across different grade levels
