Receptionist (ALL GENDER)
Part-time: 60% (25 hours/5-day week)
Reception-hours: Mon–Fri, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (A-B week)
Requirements:
Fluency in English and German preferred, flexible availability with shift work (A-B week). Work in a child-friendly environment with empathy and sensitivity.

The International School of Stuttgart, a non-profit English-language educational institution, is looking for you to join our dynamic reception team as a receptionist (m/f/d).
With us, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute your expertise in English and German and play a key role in providing service-oriented visitor reception and ensuring the safety of the school. Working in a child-friendly environment requires a high degree of empathy and sensitivity in order to make the right decisions even in critical situations. Your responsibilities:
- Monitoring and securing the main entrance, including registering, welcoming, and assisting visitors (including visitor logs)
- Acting as the first point of contact on the phone, coordinating and processing incoming inquiries, and distributing/processing central school emails
- Handling emergency calls and acting as the main contact for the police in emergencies
- Recording student attendance (grades 6–12) in the IT system (Veracross) on a daily basis, as well as tracking and documenting absences
- Maintenance and administration of the access system
- Processing of all mail and parcel logistics (incoming and outgoing)
- Organization of procedures during school vacations and keeping a daily handover log
- Organization and documentation of fire drills
Your profile:
- You already have professional experience in security/reception, ideally in an international environment/non-profit organization.
- Your representative appearance is always customer-oriented, discreet, and responsible.
- You are confident in using Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Your hands-on mentality means you have a detail-oriented and meticulous approach to your work.
- You have good communication skills in everyday English (B2/C1). German language skills (B2/C1) are essential for local communication.
