The International School of Stuttgart e.V. is a non-profit Kindergarten through 12th grade, NEASC accredited, IB World School offering an international curriculum to a student body of about 880 from over 40 nations. ISS is one school, located on two campuses. The Sindelfingen campus is situated 20 km to the west of Stuttgart and offers a dual language / interlingual learning environment. ISS Sindelfingen Campus currently has 180 students from Kindergarten, to 10th Grade.

ISS is looking to hire a qualified

GERMAN TEACHER FOR EARLY YEARS (M/F/D)

Starting in August 2025. Full-time. This position is a cover for two years.
The successful candidate will:   
  • have a Bachelors degree and qualified teacher status  
  • be a motivated and enthusiastic teacher of early childhood learning through German 
  • have early childhood teaching experience and a minimum of two years teaching experience as an Early Years teacher 
  • be committed to a collaborative approach to working with colleagues in a team-teaching situation 
  • be fluent in German and proficient in English  
  • feed back to the educational team regarding any concerns dealing with students’ pastoral needs  
  • have experience of and commitment to supporting the pastoral needs of the students  
  • communicate with parents about students’ progress in German learning  
  • work with colleagues to support and guide students to achieve their academic potential 
  • attend weekly staff meetings and collaborative planning times  
  • be fascinated by the process of learning for understanding, open to new ideas, humorous and flexible  
  • have up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance in relation to working with, and the protection of, children and young people   
  • display commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people    
  • value and respect the views and needs of children and young people.  
A commitment to collaborative planning with the class teacher and other subject teachers is an essential part of the post. An attitude of open-mindedness and commitment towards the ISS Mission and Philosophy are essential pre-requisites to this post. A knowledge of the premises of current best practice early learning approaches will be an advantage.  
 
We teach with a strong focus on differentiation for the children’s learning levels in an integrated, inquiry- based curriculum. We encourage questioning, exploration, and the articulation of ideas, opinions and discoveries. Evidence of the ability to facilitate learning in an intercultural and interlingual setting will be required at interview.
