WS Summer Camp Coordinator (ALL GENDER)

Starting as soon as possible. Employment period: April – 20. September 2026

Part-time:          10 hours/week until June 30-2026(2 days of operation-flexible)

Full-time:           40 hours/week July 1 – August 31-2026, on site Campus

Requirements:  Fluency in English and German preferred, Work in a child-friendly                                              environment with empathy and sensitivity

We're looking for a Summer Camp Coordinator for our Degerloch campus to oversee our annual English-language immersion summer camp for children aged 4–12. The Coordinator will be responsible for planning, running, and evaluating the 2026 program, managing everything from getting ready before camp starts to wrapping things up at the end of the season. Their main goal is to create a safe, fun, and educational atmosphere for every child.

This role involves supervising a team of up to seven full-time staff and serving around 60–70 kids each day. The camp also features an on-site daily lunch service.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:
  • Oversee every element of summer camp preparation, such as developing programs, managing logistics, organising staff, handling budgets, and maintaining communication with parents; work in partnership with the Finance Manager to manage budgeting and invoicing.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise camp staff in partnership with HR; foster a positive, team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Develop and maintain daily/weekly schedules, including lunch service coordination with the Kitchen Chef to ensure nutritious, timely meals for campers and staff.
  • Oversee site and facility readiness, including room setup, cleaning, and ongoing maintenance in collaboration with the Facilities Manager to keep spaces safe and in good order.
  • Act as the main contact for staff, parents, and external partners, and develop marketing content for all external communications, promotions, and updates related to enrollment.
  • Ensure compliance with school, health, and safety protocols; oversee emergency procedures, risk assessment, and child safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Valid German work permit (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Health insurance coverage
  • Proven experience in education, youth program management, or similar leadership roles
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills in English (German advantageous)
  • Experience supervising staff and managing operations in high-energy environments
  • CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain training before camp)
  • Knowledge of regulations and best practices regarding safeguarding and child protection
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a multicultural, dynamic team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience coordinating summer camps or experiential programs
  • Budget management and cross-departmental coordination skills
  • Knowledge of school MIS software, particularly Veracross
  • Second language, ideally German
  • Experience in diverse, international settings
