The International School of Stuttgart e.V. is a non-profit Kindergarten through 12th grade, NEASC accredited, IB World School offering an international curriculum to a student body of about 880 from over 40 nations. Among its strengths are its student-centred and holistic approach to learning and its commitment to professional development and emphasis on student pastoral care.
For our annual English language immersion summer camp for children between 4 -12 years of age, we are looking to hire:  


Summer Camp Instructors (ALL GENDER)

Campus: Degerloch

Summer Camp 2026: 06th July - 28th August 2026. This Position is until End of August 2026.

  • Week 1:    6 July – 10 July
  • Week 2:  13 July – 17 July
  • Week 3:  20 July – 24 July
  • Week 4:  27 July – 31 July
  • Week 5:   3 August – 7 August
  • Week 6: 10 August – 14 August
  • Week 7: 17 August – 21 August
  • Week 8: 24 August – 28 August

Working hours: 08.00-16.00 every day (Mo-Fr) (1hour break)

Responsibilities

The Summer Camp Instructor plays a key role in creating a fun, safe, and memorable camp experience for all participants. In this role, you will supervise and engage campers throughout each weekly session, helping to bring activities to life with enthusiasm and creativity. Instructors lead or support a wide range of recreational and educational programs, encouraging participation, teamwork, and confidence in every child.

As a trusted and approachable presence, you will ensure the well-being of your group while building positive relationships with both campers and their families. Instructors serve as the main point of contact for their assigned group, keeping parents informed about daily activities and highlights. Above all, this role is about fostering an inclusive, supportive environment where every camper feels welcomed, valued, and excited to be part of the experience.

  • Support the planning and delivery of summer program activities, including excursions and field trips
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing situations and the needs of children
  • Show a genuine interest in youth development, with a strong commitment to camper safety and well-being
  • Prepare, set up, and maintain equipment and materials for activities, ensuring proper clean-up and storage afterward
  • Assist with organizing and supervising daily camp activities to maximize participation, engagement, and enjoyment
  • Help maintain group schedules and support the smooth flow of daily routines and transitions
  • Lead or assist in recreational activities, bringing energy, creativity, and enthusiasm
  • Model positive behavior, teamwork, and leadership for both campers and fellow staff
  • Build meaningful connections with campers, fostering a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment
  • Take responsibility for the overall well-being of participants and communicate relevant information to parents in a professional and respectful manner
  • Adapt to schedule adjustments as required to meet program needs

 

Qualifications

  • Valid German work permit or eligibility to obtain one
  •  Energetic, proactive, and flexible approach with a positive attitude
  • Experience working with children and youth, or a strong interest in doing so
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, responsible, and service-oriented mindset
  •  Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices and relevant guidelines
  • Demonstrated commitment to the safety, protection, and well-being of children and young people
  • Ability to respect and value the diverse needs, perspectives, and experiences of children and youth

Additional Experience (Considered an Asset)

  • Previous experience in a camp setting
  • Experience working with children and/or in an international or multicultural environment
  • Proficiency in a second language (German preferred)
  • Willingness to work in an outdoor environment
