For our annual English language immersion summer camp for children between 4 -12 years of age, we are looking to hire: 
 

Summer Camp Junior Instructors

Starting End of June 2025. This Position is until End of August 2024.

Job Description:

The Summer Camp Junior Instructor supports the provision of care, supervision, and program facilitation for their assigned campers in each weekly session. The Summer Camp Junior Instructor is responsible for supporting the general welfare and safety of participants as well as engaging and entertaining children participating in summer activities.  

Job Functions and Requirements:

Essential Job Functions:     
  • Ability to assist Instructors and teaching staff with activities and set up and the supervision of children  
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing situations and children’s needs.  
  • Have a genuine interest in the development of youth 
  • Make sure all equipment and supplies are ready and set-up for activities in advance and that it is properly cleaned up and stored at the conclusion of the activity or day.  
  • Assist in supporting programs to ensure maximum participation and enjoyment from campers 
  • Assist in the transitioning children from activity to activity and the movement of children throughout the camp day  
Required skills and knowledge:  
  • German work permit
  • Must be 16 years or older to apply 
  • High energy, self-starter with positive outlook and flexibility  
  • Experience and/or desire to work with children and youth in a camp setting   
  • Excellent people skills and a friendly, responsible, service-oriented attitude   
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities   
  • CPR & First Aid or ability to obtain training   
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance in relation to working with, and the protection of children and young people   
  • Display commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young     people   
  • Value and respects the views and needs of children and young people 
Additional experience considered an asset:  
  • Camp experience 
  • Experience working with children and/or in a diverse, multicultural environment   
  • Second language, preferably German
  • May require working in an outdoor environment.
